We’re very excited to announce the launch of Creator Profiles on our “things to do” website, activibees.com. Our Creator Profiles allow travel and activity content creators to blog about their adventures, and produce longer form content than most typical social networks allow for.
So profiles can be seen as blogs – a blogging community where people can subscribe for updates, and crucially – the creators then get the email addresses of their subscribers so they can email them directly if they wish. Content Creators put so much effort into the work they produce – and if it’s all just on a typical social network, they’re running the risk of the rug being whipped out from under them if that network chooses to kick them off for any reason. So building a back up mailing list is a business disaster recovery activity and one more creators need to do.
Meanwhile, each time a blog post is posted, everyone who is following that creator will be emailed about the post. The reason this is a big deal is because it means the creators aren’t fighting against the Algorithm Gods. You know your content is going to be seen by who wants to see it.
A major deal about why Creator Profiles on activibees.com are different to other profiles on social networks and blogging platforms though, is how we create the blog posts. Yes Creators can write their own – we love it when they do. But for creators with an established following, we’ve introduced “VIPs” – Very Important Profiles! In these cases, we actually write the blog posts for the creator, meaning they can concentrate on sourcing the content, filming their reels, photographing the highlights, and coordinating their brand deals, whilst we turn that content into a long form blog post. Creators are welcome to include their own affiliate links (assuming those merchants allow for their links to be posted on 3rd party URLs) and they keep all of the proceeds.
In order to assist us with generating all of this content for creators, we’ve developed tools using AWS Transcribe and ChatGPT alongside WhatsApp for Business. Content Creators send us voice notes of their adventures, meaning they use their own language and expressions, and we transcribe that audio into text. We then use ChatGPT to “clean” the dialogue, removing “umms” and “ahhs” and in some cases forming complete sentences, before our human copy writers produce a final edit. SEO is extremely important to us, and whilst we’ve also got persona work underway with ChatGPT, we’re keen for the articles to be human and genuine as we think that gives a better result for our creators and will do better with Google. It’s also vitally important to us that the articles are 100% accurate to the Creator’s experience, and sometimes AI just tweaking some wording to make a phrase sound better can actually dramatically change the meaning of the sentence.
If you’re a Travel Content Creator, or Things to Do Instagrammer, and would like to discuss having your own VIP, you can read more here and contact us via activibees.
