Back in November we wrote about the new EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) service which comes with a legal requirement for every online trader to link to it from the 9th January 2016.

At the time we didn’t know a URL for the platform but it’s since been announced that the system will sit at: http://ec.europa.eu/odr .

The ODR allows consumers to submit complaints about any products or services bought online. Any business who trades online needs to add a link from their website to the ODR, and state their email address. Links also should be added to contracts or any terms and conditions.

Links are supposed to be in place by the 9th January as that’s when the law comes into effect – but according to the EU’s website today, whilst the platform will be operational from the 9th January it will be made available in stages and will be accessible to consumers and traders on the 15th February 2016.
