If you run a real world venue, and you have no accessibility needs, it can be easy to forget how important little bits of information are and how much the smaller details can really effect your experience of a day out. This is why we’ve been working with our client Lounges to increase the accessibility information on their website and give people the level of detail that will really put their mind at ease before they arrive, or allow them to be prepared for what they’ll need to manage once they get there.
Now, at the top of each Lounge location page on The Lounges website, is an icon of a wheelchair (just next to the bone which tells you if a venue is dog friendly or not!). Crucially though, clicking on that wheelchair scrolls you down to a section of the website which then gives you more information about the accessibility features at that venue.

This extra level of detail lets a visitor know before they arrive if they’re going to be able to manage the elevator, entrance, car park, restroom/bathroom or seating, as well as letting them know if there is a hearing loop installed.
It’s so important in hospitality that people are made to feel welcome, and giving people the information that lets them feel comfortable and relaxed before they arrive not only encourages them to come in the first place, but make the whole outing so much more enjoyable because they can feel prepared for any hurdles or relaxed about what’s already sorted. The unknown is often scarier than the known, so if you’ve put the effort into making your venues accessible, make sure you shout about it from your website so that your visitors look forward to their visit even more.
